Here is a really simple solution to a seemingly complex problem. Lorelle’s way is way too G-(R)EEK-y for me! So I got a little inventive!
Before you try out the instructions, make sure you are already a member of Technorati !
Psst, don’t bother reading this post any further. Cos you know what, I got wind of a neat website that gets it all done and much much more! Sorry that I didn’t know about it when I wrote this labour-intensive article!

Step-by-step instructions:
1. Single out a category that a post of yours is posted under.
2. Log in to your Technorati account
3. Search for that term at technorati – top right hand corner.
4. You will find the search results for the term. Scroll down and to the left of the page you will find the offer:
See your posts here
To contribute to this page, include this code in your blog post:
5. Under the offer you will find some HTML CODE in a box.
6. Copy and paste the code under your post. Of course making sure that you are doing so at the “code” area, as opposed to the “visual editor”.
7. Rejoice, bcos, that’s it!
Question:
As far as I understand, I have to make repeat visits to Technorati and search for a term every time I want to enlist a category, that too for each post. That is very time consuming. Is there any quick solution to get around this?
Answer:
Hey! That’s exactly what I had i mind too! I mean, ok, a blogger has to promote her posts, but I don’t have either the time or the inclination to keep on doing it!
And as it happens there is a simple solution to avoid back-and-forthing!
To get to that we need to analyze the code just a little.

Please don’t be afraid of all the jibberish. You don’t have to understand any of it.
But do take note that within the code the word wordpress appears three times.
Which results in this:
wordpress
Here is what you have to do now:
1. Open a Notepad file.
2. Copy and paste the code you get at Technorati in your Notepad file.
3. Replace the searchterm at all three places that they occur with the same category you posted your entry under.
4. Paste the modified code under your post!
5. Repeat the steps for each category and for each post!
Further tips
- It is always advisable to keep the contents of the original Notepad file intact. Should you mess things up inadvertently, it will save you from doing it over again!
- Create another Notepad file and list all your modified codes there. So that you can quickly choose the dodes for the needed categories.
If you still have a question, just ask! Or how about complimenting me for the hardwork?

[...] I am sorry you people had to go thru’ the agony of the slightly more difficult version I did a while ago. What can I say, um, does “sorry” sound good enough? Oops, I guess I [...]
Wow, this looks like more work than my system.
Actually, with your system, and tags, you are now inviting readers to leave your blog. The tags take them to Technorati, not your blog. If you want them to find information on your blog via those tags, you need to keep them on your blog by turning them into search links.
However, WordPress.com should be having tags added very soon as WordPress developers incorporate tagging into the program. We’ll probably be testing them here first, which, if they are site search tags and not WordPress.com tags, will make my system and yours redundant.
Stay tuned and watch with me!
woo hoo! is it not the famous lorelle herself!
alright!
you know some bloggers are happy when there is not much thinking involved regargirding codes! my system might have needed more work, so it’s not meant for lazy folks. just for idiots like me!
anyway i have already apologised for the more-work version now that i know of keotags!
thanks for letting me know about the disadvantage of having it done either way. and ooh i can’t wait for the generic improvement!
@Lorelle,
using those tags help visitors from search engine to land on your blog! so it is both-way traffic!
readers,
you can catch up on it here:
