Keotag automatically generates tags – for Technorati, other search engines and social bookmarking sites

www.keotag.com is a Godsend for wordpress .com bloggers. This site will automatically generate all the tags you could wish for and even more! And that too in two easy steps!

First of all, you have to enter a word and in the second step choose Technorati or some other seacrh engine and the tag for that site will be automatically generated!

Same for social bookmarking sites also! You can automatically generate codes for blinklist, delicious, furl, yahoo, digg, rojo, shadows and netvous. Hmmm, not bad. But I can’t help wishing there were more options!
All you have to do is copy the HTML and paste it where you want it!

So I am sorry you people had to go thru’ the agony of the slightly more difficult version I did a while ago. What can I say, um, does “sorry” sound good enough? Oops, I guess I said it already, huh! :D

Updated after Lorelle’s comment on this post
Although inserting Technorati tags under each post might drive traffic away from your post, there is still a very good reason to do it. Simply put, it works both ways! That means, if someone searches for a keyword at Technorati, and if your article is listed there, more visitors can land on your blog from there! And putting those tags enables that! IMO, there’s no minus point in letting readers find something else somewhere else via your post, cos they have done visiting and hitting your post first – ah, stat stat stat! But when a reader does come to your post from somewhere else, that’s lovely!

Why using the Addthis social bookmarking code without modification under wordpress.com blog posts is not user-friendly

The reason why using the social bookmarking code from Addthis without necessary modification is not helpful to your readers is explained so well by Options in a wordpress .com support forum thread that I will lift the whole thing and paste it within blockquotes. And no, wordpress .com forum entries are not copyrighted. So, no worries! :D

[...]a link-button to AddThis 3rd-party service, but it’s absolutely useless — it doesn’t contain a post permalink!

should any visitor to bookmark that post hitting this button they’d have to return back to the post, copy permalink, then go back to AddThis, paste permalink, check needed soc. bookmarking service and so on.

without a permalink it’s just a misleading useless thingy.

He explains more……

[...]just what I’ve already said above: you have to add a permalink URL (at the very least) and a post title *manually*, to each post — whether it’s a single addthis big badge or several tiny badges for particular services.

this has come before quite a number of times and still looks like it’s hard to comprehend the idea that *any* bookmark needs an URL and title.

(copied from here)

Did you read that? Do you understand it? Good! Don’t fall for it even though you might see it under the posts of blogs of many matute wordpress .com bloggers. Nobody is perfect, not even those who seem to have “made it”.

It was intended to bookmark blogs, not blogposts. So it is better left alone in the sidebar, rather than be allowed to sit comfy under each post. :D
