HAVE you heard of the term commentosphere? “Welcome to commentosphere” is the tagline of the website I am gonna review here.
coComment keeps track of all the online conversations you’re following in one convenient place, and informs you whenever something is added to a conversation.

Although for reasons unknown to me, websnapr automatically translated the coComment page into German before creating the thumbnail, worry not if you don’t understand German. The site is actually in English.
How coComment works
There are two ways to get coComments to work for you. Install the browser extension, which will automatically activate coComment. Or install the bookmarklet in your browser bar and click it on to activate coComment before submitting a comment.
You can find these tools in the coComment capture page.
To have a hands-on experience, you can visit the coComment Test Blog after installing your chosen tool. What are you gonna find there? Well, here is a sneak peek!
coComment creates tabs under the comment box to help you submit a comment to your coComment page as well as the platform where you are submitting the comment. What if you want to submit the comment only to that platform and not to coComment (to prevent tracking of that comment)? Well, right after you click the Submit button, a cancel and submit to blog message appears in the tabs. Click it and your comment will be submitted only to that platform.

Stop track is a toggle-switch that can be used to either track or stop tracking a comment.
When you click Share, a pop-up window appears, allowing you to share your comment with people by emailing them, with a group (Select one or more groups from your public groups at coComment to invite their members to the conversation you can also select one private group at once and invite their members) or on the social web (includes Twitter, Furl, Yahoo, Google Bookmarks, Blinklist, ma.gnolia, Windows Live, del.icio.us, Digg, Netscape, Stumble Upon, Technorati, Newsvine, Reddit and Tailrank).
Tags are of course nothing new – you enter them in the adjascent text field to increase the accesibility of your comments in future.
The triangle on the right, when clicked, shows links to your personal page at coComment, allows you not to link to your nickname and blacklist (frankly I don’t know what it’s purpose is, though!)
Which browsers and platforms support coComment?
Most definitely, my most fave browser Firefox is supported. Also Safari and Internet Explorer are supposed to work.
Flickr, Digg, WordPress are among those blogging platforms that are coComment-compatible. To view the full list of supported browsers and platforms, please read the coComment Support page.
It is also possible to integrate coComment in your blog. The coComments Integrate page lists platforms that allow integration. If your platform is not listed there, you can request it.
Share your coComments in your site/blog via widgets, RSS feeds and buttons

As for the widgets, since the widgets use javascript components, and javascript is a no-no for us wordpress.com bloggers, I can’t embed any widget in my blog. Oh well, Rss suits me just fine!

no! cocomment is not the monster that ate me! it’s the damn internet service that is the guilty party here. right after the storm, their system went berserk and a few consumers were affected. and i am one of the unfortunate ones! i would have been mad beyond measure if it were not for the storm. i am without a net connection at homw for a week now. i still don’t know when i will get it back. until then, no online activities for me. i simply don’t have the time to do it outside my home!
